Easy Peasy Salad Dressings

Salads can seem a little boring but add a dressing and it suddenly can become a wonderful feast.

Most dressings you buy in the shops are full of added sweeteners, or sugar so are something to avoid if you want to be sugar-free.

Here are 5 quick, easy peasy, naturally sugar-free, ‘jam-jar’ dressings that you can easily make up and keep in the fridge.

French Dressing

  • ¼ clove garlic 
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard 
  • 2 tbsp. white or red wine vinegar 
  • 6 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil 
  • 1 pinch sea salt 
  • 1 pinch freshly ground black pepper 
  • Peel and finely chop ¼ of a clove of garlic

Put the garlic, 1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard, 2 tablespoons of white or red wine vinegar and 6 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil into a jam jar with a pinch of sea salt and freshly ground black pepper. Put the lid on the jar and shake well.

Yoghurt Dressing 

  • 1/3 cup natural yoghurt 
  • 2 tbsp. white or red wine vinegar 
  • 1 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 pinch sea salt 
  • 1 pinch freshly ground black pepper

Put 1/3 cup of natural yoghurt, 2 tablespoons of white or red wine vinegar and 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil into a jam jar with a pinch of sea salt and freshly ground black pepper. Put the lid on the jar and shake well 

Lemon Dressing 

  • 6 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil 
  • 1 pinch sea salt 
  • 1 pinch freshly ground black pepper 
  • Juice of 1 lemon

Put 6 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil into a jam jar with a pinch of sea salt and freshly ground black pepper. Squeeze in the juice of 1 lemon. Put the lid on the jar and shake well.

 Balsamic Dressing 

  • 6 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil 
  • 2 tbsp. balsamic vinegar 
  • 1 pinch sea salt 
  • 1 pinch freshly ground black pepper


Put 6 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar into a jam jar with a pinch of sea salt and freshly ground black pepper. Put the lid on the jar and shake well.

Spicy Orange Dressing

  • Zest and juice of 1 orange
  • 1 tbsp. cider vinegar
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • Pinch of cumin
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper

 Mix all ingredients together in a jar and shake well.
