Top tips for snacking if you have the munchies...

- Before you have a snack check you are not just thirsty, check in with your body and have a glass of water; so often hunger mascerades as dehydration.

- Choose a snack that is as nutrient dense and natural in origin as possible. Snacks that are naturally sweet such as whole fruit comes perfectly wrapped up in fibre so slowing its digestion down.

- Unless you are snacking on fruit generally enjoy snacks that are higher in good fats and protein and lower in carbohydrates, this will support your blood sugar.

- If you choose a piece of fruit have it with a handful of nuts and/or seeds which are packed with protein and good fats
