Give your digestion a ‘leg up’ by soaking nuts and seeds before eating them. Until they come into contact with water they are essentially dormant. The reason they don’t sprout is that they contain a natural enzyme that inhibits sprouting taking place; this enzyme also makes them less digestible.

By soaking them you are effectively bringing them back to life, making them more nutritious and digestible as well as hydrating. Also when you eat food that has been soaked you are giving your body the message of hydration, a deeply reassuring 'knowing' that there is enough water and that you are safe.
